| It's
impossible to have an air ticket valid for longer than 12 months. If you wish
to stay longer then you will either have to forfeit the remaining part of your
Round the World ticket or you could buy a One Way ticket. If you do this you must
check the visa requirements directly with the relevant embassies, as many countries
do not like you arriving on their doorstep without any obvious means of leaving!
Beside time and money, the opportunity to stay
somewhere longer than expected depends on 4 parameters : - your
Visa situation
- the Weather
- the
cost of life
- what you are interested in
Visa You
will have to check the visa requirements before you arrive in each country to
see how long you can stay for : this will determines your route. For example :
in China you are granted a 60-day tourist Visa, which can restrict signifivantly
your journey in this huge country. >>>

page on www.toorista.com Weather
and Seasons The weather is most people's main reason for
travelling to somewhere at a certain time of the year. Hence, you can spare some
time to figure out what is the appropriate season for each country you will visit,
but keep in mind that for a RTW trip : it's quite impossible to always travel
during the right season. >>> For
more information : see the Weather
page on www.toorista.com Cost
of life Developed countries usually mean short stays as
they tend to be too expensive for travellers who are not planning to work. Countries
like Japan and Hong Kong though are well worth including in your ticket as stopovers
if they are easily built into your particular routing. What
you are interested in If you are interested in a particular
area - be it for cultural/historic reasons, or just because the beach is nice
then you will always find a way of staying longer. Remember that your plans will
change a million times when you are on the road so all the pre-trip planning may
go straight out of the window as soon as you find your dream beach hut in the
middle of nowhere! |
