| As I was
telling U in my last mail, i have been stocked for
quiet some time snorkeling into the very nice red
sea. Last night i climbed the Mount Sinai in order
to see the sun rise at 5h30 in the morning. It s quiet
a treck. 2 hours 30 min and it s pretty steep. I walked
all the way with a very nice french couple. We had
a lot of fun joking around with the bedouins. It was
nice walking under the stars. Every 500 meters, a
bedouin had set up a small shop selling amongst other
things coke and pepsi (as if it was an issue to choose
in between)... |

When the
light rose, we ve discovered an ocean of cotton clouds
making their way through mountains. Very nice. We
warmed up an hour with the sun and started to hike
down. After a harsh bargain that i have performed
with a young bedouin, the 3 of us rode a camel all
the way down, the kind of stuff you ve got to do at
least once. We ve decided to go to Cairo together
(i mean, i ll stick to them). They ve been there before
and they know a good cheap hotel. Not that i am afraid
to get to Cairo alone but getting to Cairo after an
8 hour trip with no guide book, not knowing anything
and anyone is just looking for trouble. |
The hassle you get there
apparently is not only a legend. I ve seen so many old
stones in the past month that i thing i ll visit an oasis
not far from the lybian border in the desert and i may
skip Louxor. Anyway we are off tonight.
Tomorrow i ll be sitting
in from the pyramids. I ll have a thought for you. Antoine
