Siam Reap

Place to Stay

There are many guesthouses in town which are comparable on price and service. The price of most places is not set and fluctuates depending on how busy the place is (huge difference between dry and wet seasons).

We stayed at Green Garden Home Guesthouse for 22 USD/night.
The room is very clean and pleasant, with private shower (hot water) and air-con.

The hotel is off the main road and located in a nice small garden. It has two bungalow-style buildings housing about 20 rooms.

The owner speaks fluent French and a little bit English. You can request for tourist info as well as services of interprete / guide and moto/car driver.

Address : On Oum Khun St. off Sivatha, 100m south of Rte. #6 - Tel: 015-631634

There's also other guesthouse which offer basic rooms starting from 6 USD.

Place to Eat

At the night market, you can get fried snake and stuffed frogs for about $1.50 US. There are also a variety of food stalls around town, and most of them have good food.

We suggest you to try some of the nice asian and western restaurants as well:

The Green House is a nice, cheap local restaurant, just a bit further down the road from the night market.

A good place for a relaxing dinner or lunch is the Bayon Restaurant. Great food served in terrace, dish costs about USD 2-3. It is located at Wat Bo Road, just ask around, everyone knows this place.

Another place to recommande is Lotus and Chao Say, two restaurants located next to each other. They are managed by two Belgians and their Cambodian wifes. Lotus offers excellent French food and Chao Say asian food. They are located near the Old Market (Psah Tchaa) in the city centre.
